The Story of The Clash Vol. 1 is a compilation album comprising of songs across the band's career. Capital Radio One and part of the accompanying interview from the rare Capital Radio ep were released on CD for the first time on this album. The album also includes a booklet written by one "Albert Transom" on his career as the band's valet. According to Pat Gilbert's Passion Is A Fashion, the entire article was written by Joe Strummer under a joke pseudonym.
